"Due to its age, short production run, and important role within Rolex’s history, surviving examples of Rolex’s reference 6202 Turn-O-Graph have become quite rare and desirable among collectors today. While it may look like a vintage Submariner with an aftermarket bezel insert from a distance, the reference 6202 is actually a watch that pre-dates the Submariner and lent its design DNA to some of Rolex’s most treasured and successful lines of sports watches."

I purchased this Rolex Turn-O-Graph over six months ago withthe intention to save this unique and rare part of Rolex history. This 6202 was running but needed attention - it had a cracked crystal, incorrect case backand second hand, and was mechanically in need.
Recently serviced and lightly refurbished by Phillip Ridley,a CW21 Certified watchmaker that specializes in vintage Rolex watches. Over the course of four months this Turn-O-Graph, with caliber 645, has been:
* Cleaned, oiled, and regulated - $595.00
* Source correct Rolex 6202 case back - $2,150.00
* NOS period crystal -$800.00
* New mainspring - $95.00
* Autowind - replace broken axel and restored - $400.00
* Case tube -$95.00
* Crown - Included
* Replace second hand to period correct style -$220.00
* Replace seals and gaskets - Included
The Bezel is original and rotates correctly.
The dial is Rolex service dial (Swiss - <25) installed by Rolex Service in the 1960s.
The Jubilee bracelet is from 1966, assumed to have been replaced at same time as dial and minute hand.
The minute hand was replaced at servicing done in the 1960s.
This watch was appraised by Phillip Ridley at a value of $19,500.00; a very correct and reasonable valuation based upon the overall originality and history of this wonderful piece of Rolex history.
